best tools and gadgets 2025

IFA 2025 has once again established itself as the platform where the world’s largest tech companies vie for attention with impressive hardware launches and innovative concepts. This year’s announcements featured Samsung’s thinnest tablets to date, Lenovo’s rotating laptops, portable TVs, AI-powered wearables, and even a Bluetooth-enabled turntable. The focus this year is clearly on design, flexibility, and convenience.

Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S11 Series Takes on the iPad Pro

For years, Android users have looked enviously at Apple’s iPad Pro lineup. Now, Samsung is closing the gap. The newly unveiled Galaxy Tab S11 and Tab S11 Ultra are just as thin as Apple’s latest iPad Pro, measuring an astonishing 0.20 inches thick.

Both tablets ship with Android 16, feature 120-Hz AMOLED displays, and deliver 1,600 nits of peak brightness, ideal for both creative professionals and entertainment lovers. Samsung clearly wants these devices to be productivity powerhouses as much as they are entertainment machines.

Alongside the tablets, Samsung also introduced the Galaxy S25 FE, a more affordable sibling to the Galaxy S25 series. Priced at $650, it mirrors much of the Galaxy S25+’s spec sheet, with a few compromises to hit that friendlier price point.

Lenovo’s Twisty ThinkBook Concept

Lenovo turned heads with its ThinkBook VertiFlex, a laptop concept that manually swivels between landscape and portrait modes. Whether you’re browsing, editing documents, or chatting on Slack, the VertiFlex adapts on the fly, showcasing a design that feels both futuristic and practical.

But that wasn’t Lenovo’s only reveal. The company finally confirmed pricing and availability for the Legion Go 2, its second-gen Windows gaming handheld. With a 144-Hz OLED display, larger battery, and Hall effect joysticks, the Legion Go 2 launches in October for $1,049, a noticeable $449 increase from its predecessor.

Samsung’s Portable TV: MovingStyle

Forget projectors, Samsung wants you to carry around a 27-inch 4K touchscreen TV. The MovingStyle TV can be mounted on an adjustable stand, flipped between portrait and landscape, carried with a handle, or propped up with its kickstand.

Running on Samsung’s Tizen OS, the MovingStyle offers streaming apps via the Galaxy Store, plus HDMI and USB-C ports for external sources. With a three-hour battery life, it’s more of a home-flexibility gadget than a true travel companion, but its design shows Samsung’s continued push into lifestyle tech. Pricing and availability remain under wraps.

AI-Powered Wearables Are Here to Stay

With Apple’s next hardware event just days away, rivals moved quickly to showcase new wearables. Polar launched the Polar Loop, a screen-free fitness tracker that skips subscription fees but offers only limited health tracking. Garmin went high-end with the $2,000 Fenix 8 Pro, its first smartwatch to feature satellite communication.

Withings unveiled the upgraded ScanWatch 2, running on its new HealthSense 4 system. Using predictive AI, it can anticipate health events such as illness or menstrual cycles. Some of its most advanced features, including a Health Assistant and Cardio Checkup, are part of the paid Withings+ subscription.

Amazfit revealed the T-Rex 3 Pro, a rugged outdoor watch priced at $399. It adds dual-band GPS, sapphire glass, a built-in flashlight, and both a speaker and microphone. Collectively, these launches signal a shift from simple step tracking to AI-driven, personalized health insights.

Technics Joins the Bluetooth Era

Technics, best known for its high-end turntables, surprised music fans with the SL-40CBT, its first model to feature built-in Bluetooth. While wireless playback involves some audio compression, the addition makes vinyl more convenient for casual listeners and small spaces.

Despite the new feature, the SL-40CBT keeps Technics’ premium feel. It comes with an S-shaped aluminum tone arm, an Audio-Technica AT-VM95C cartridge, and an aluminum platter for reliable performance.

The turntable also has a built-in phono stage, making it beginner-friendly while still allowing upgrades for enthusiasts. It will be available this month in black, gray, or terracotta for $899.

Roborock Cleans Inside and Out

Roborock expanded its lineup with new vacuums and even robotic lawn mowers. The QRevo Curv 2 Pro now delivers 25,000 Pa suction and features a lifting chassis that helps it climb over carpets and small obstacles.

The company also introduced the F25 Ultra, its first handheld vacuum with both steam and hot water cleaning. On top of that, Roborock launched three robotic lawn mowers: the RockMow Z1, RockMow S1, and RockNeo Q1. All of them use the AI-powered Sentisphere navigation system.

Pricing and availability in the US are still unknown. If past releases are any guide, though, these new models could set the standard for cleaning both indoors and outdoors.

Fresh New Android Features

Android users have some fun upgrades to look forward to this year. Google is adding AI-powered writing tools directly into Gboard, its default keyboard on many devices. With just a tap, you’ll be able to adjust tone, fix grammar, or get quick proofreading help before sending a message. Best of all, Google says all of this happens on your device, so your data stays private.

Another handy feature is Audio Sharing. Using the latest LE Audio standard, you can now pair two sets of earbuds or headphones to the same phone and enjoy music or movies together. A new QR code system also makes it simple to create private broadcasts that friends can join just by scanning.

Google is also rolling out its colorful Material 3 Expressive user interface to Pixel 6 and newer models after debuting it on the Pixel 10. And for a touch of fun, there’s Androidify, a creative tool that lets you turn a selfie into your own animated Android bot. Powered by Gemini 2.5 Flash, Imagen, and Veo 3, it generates a custom robot image and even lets you animate it into an 8-second clip every Friday in September.

Conclusion

IFA 2025 showcased a wave of innovations that balance power, design, and everyday convenience. From Samsung’s ultra-thin tablets to Lenovo’s rotating laptops, AI-driven wearables, and Roborock’s smart cleaning tools, the year’s gadgets highlight a shift toward flexibility and smarter integration into daily life. If these launches are any indication, 2025 is shaping up to be a milestone year for consumer tech.
